The Players

These three veterans of the Austin music scene have been performing together for over 25 years - as members of Stringer's AM Band, and as studio players or sidemen with various other artists. All three are not only "A" team players, but are known for their broad stylistic range and their improvisational skills!

Jim Stringer

Guitar, lead vocal - credits with almost 100 projects over his 63 years of performing professionally. Stringer was inducted into Kansas', his native state, Music Hall of Fame in 2007. With his band, The AM Band, he's had residencies at The Carousel, Ginny's Little Longhorn, Sam's Town Point, The White Horse, The Broken Spoke, and other notable Austin nightspots. Currently, he's ending a nearly 25 year association with Roger Wallace (moving out of state), and contining a long standing jazz project with Rosie Flores, The Blue Moon Jazz Quartet, or BMJQ.

Dave Wesselowski

Bass - Dave was the original AM Band bassist, starting in 1997, having met playing with Ted Roddy's Tearjoint Troubadors. Though his early association with the AM Band was interrupted when Dave moved, briefly, to Nashville, he and Jim have continued to perform in many other settings, as well. Dave's past credits have included the blue's master, Gary Primich, instrumental icon, Teisco Del Rey. He currently performs with Doug Strahan & The Good Neighbors on a regular basis, and with others who are lucky enough to catch him on an open date.

Ralph Power

Drums - Also an alum of The AM Band, both on recordings and live performance, Ralph is a journeyman drummer and is guaranteed to provide a solid groove, regardless of the genre as witnessed by his history with Texas artists from Smokin' Joe Kubek's blues, to Mark Viator & Susan Maxey's cajun Americana. Stringer's association with Ralph, as with Dave Wesselowski, also began with Ted Roddy's Tearjoint Troubadors in the late 1990s. You can check out his wide variety of skills and experience at his Reverb Nation web site. This is a link to a live AM Band performance at The ABGB with Ralph Power on drums: I Crossed The Line.
